As the construction stage of Chelsea Botanical Gardens nears, we recognize the need to build a solid group of volunteers. The Gardens will be a huge undertaking with far reaching ramifications throughout the Northeast and beyond. We welcome those over 18 years of age who are interested in volunteering their time, talent, and energy; there will be a niche for everyone.  Be sure to revisit this page often to learn of new projects and events.

Butterfly Pavilion

Our 7th annual Butterfly Pavilion, held in June 2014, at Hart's Greenhouse and Florist in Norwich, was a smashing success, due in large part to over 60 community volunteers, some of whom have been with us since the first Pavilion. Although we did not hold a Butterfly Pavilion in 2015 or 2016, we have need of volunteers to help with our butterfly-related projects as described on the Events page. An orientation session, including general information and specific requirements, will be held prior to the events. Knowledge of plants and butterflies is helpful but not necessary for most positions. Volunteers receive a Chelsea Gardens' T-shirt to be worn during public events.
